Family Fun Day

Baldwin Heights Elementary School
Danish Festival Sunday | 12:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.


Family Fun Day is Sunday afternoon and will be packed full of activities that are
fun for the kids. Activities this year include Bounce House, a Toddler-only Bounce House,
Obstacle Course, Grand Slam T-ball, Balloon Blasters and, new this year, Human Hamster Balls!
The dunk tank will also be there, so be sure to check
out what community member is in the dunk tank!

There will also be the safety corner with a fire truck, ambulance and police car for kids to check out.
The Smoke House will be there and the fire hose to spray. Also enjoy face painting, petting and feeding zoo,
games and music. Our sponsor, Preferred Credit Union, will be on hand with complimentary popcorn.

It is $5 admission per child, which includes a wristband for unlimited access to all
of the fun activities. Refreshments and concessions are available for purchase.

Bring a blanket and a picnic, stay for an hour or make it an all-afternoon FAMILY FUN DAY.

Danish Festival Geocaching

Greenville Area Community Center
Danish Festival Sunday | 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.

Geocaching is an outdoor, family-friendly recreational activity, similar to a scavenger hunt,
in which the participants use a Global Positioning System or other navigational technology to
hide and seek containers, called “geocaches,” or “caches,” anywhere in the world.

Geocaching 101 will start at 1 p.m. for anyone interested in learning what makes this such an exciting

Lego Masterpiece Building Contest

Did you know the popular building blocks originated in Denmark?
It’s another claim to fame that Denmark can boast.
In celebration of this great invention, a Lego building
station will be available for children of all ages.

Danish Kids Crafts

Danish Festival Saturday | 12:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Take part in an extravaganza of activities for the kids!
Children may participate in a variety of arts and crafts
projects, showcasing their Danish creativity and imagination.
Games and other activities are sure to be enjoyable. Stop by
and choose a design in our face painting booth and select a
temporary tattoo to be applied too! All activities are
free of charge. A schedule of events will be posted in the park.

I Scream, Ice Cream Contest

Danish Festival Friday | 6:30 p.m.
Following the Fairy Tale Parade

Come to HCA Park following the Fairy Tale Parade
and enjoy ice cream, entertainment and laughs. It’s
the scoop on ice cream! You are invited to come up on
stage and give your best scream. Originality counts!
It’s not how loud you scream, but how creative you are.
All participants will receive a free ice cream cone.

Danish Land Midway

Danish Festival Friday | 12:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.
Danish Festival Saturday | 12:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Danish Festival is pleased to offer Danish Land Midway
for area children. This event is guaranteed to be enjoyable
for all 3- to 12-year-olds. Our inflatable activities are a
great way to release some energy. Please check the schedule
in the park for other activities.

Hans Christian Andersen Events

Danish Festival Friday | 12:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.
Danish Festival Saturday | 12:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Hans Christian Andersen Park will be filled with activities
highlighting Hans Christian Andersen. We will host children’s’
games and craft projects. All activities are free of charge.

Please join us for a wonderful family experience during the festival.

you don’t miss out on anything. A must-attend for families.

Prinsesse for a Day

Flat River Community Library
Friday, August 12th, 2016 | 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.

The day will include activities for young girls ages 5 to 10 years
old including Snow Queen activities and games, rehearsal and participation
in a production number during the Miss Danish Festival Pageant, a royal luncheon
and a presentation of a crown to all participants. Each participant will receive a T-shirt, as well.

Storyweavers Presents Danish Tales

Flat River Community Library
Danish Festival Friday | 10:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
Children’s’ Section of the Flat River Community Library

Leap into the world of imagination with Storyweavers as they tell Danish Tales to be
enjoyed by children and adults at Flat River Community Library. Storyweavers are
storytellers who have performed their stories in many schools, libraries, festivals
and senior citizen homes to the delight of their audiences.

Storyweavers is a storytelling guild serving our regional area.

Danish Festival Talent Show

Main Stage Located at Grove Street and Lafayette Street
Danish Festival Saturday| 5:00 p.m.

Singers, dancers, baton twirlers, area entertainers and children of all ages
are invited to take part in the annual Danish Festival Talent Show. Two
categories, Youth and Adult, contestants can win up to $100.  Applications are available at
the Danish Festival Office or on the website under forms.
